The 23rd Annual Seminar of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) will open its doors to high profile Government functionaries, Captains of Industry and Stakeholders on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos as it seeks to beam its searchlight on pragmatic ways to turn around the fortunes of the sector in an apparently slow economy that is gradually coming out of a recession.
The theme of the forum: “Boosting Aviation Investments Through Policy,” seeks to address many of the challenges that have adversely affected the sector over the years as well as the current difficulties being faced by airlines, ground handlers, services providers, and other key players in the sector with a view to turning their fortunes around through government’s proactive role in evolving industry-friendly policies that will help transform the sector and encourage increased foreign direct investment.
Expected at the gathering is a strong government delegation to be led by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Alhaji Sadiu Zakari; the DG, NCAA, Capt. Muhtar Usman; MD, FAAN, Capt. Hamisu Yadudu; Rector, NCAT, Capt. Abdulsalami Mohammed; and Commissioner, AIB, Engr. Akin Olateru among several others.
Eminent resource personalities also expected to grace the occasion and lend a voice to the subject of discourse include Dr. Harold Demuren, the former Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) who is expected to glean from his rich wealth of knowledge and experience to set the tone for the day’s discussions; Alhaji Muneer Bankole, MD, Medview Airlines; and Mr. Genga Olowo, President of Aviation Round Table (ART), among several other seasoned industry experts and Chief Executives of airlines, banks, insurance companies, airline catering firms, security operatives, travel and tourism practitioners as well as law firms to mention a few.
This year’s LAAC Seminar promises to live up to expectations judging from the great interest evidenced by the list of confirmed speakers and participants due to attend the forum from a wide spectrum of endeavours.
