CAPA Hosts First Canada Aviation Summit – By Daisy BARRO


CAPA- Center for Aviation, a specialist in market intelligence for the travel and aviation industry, is bracing itself to launch its first Canada Aviation Summit. Taking place in Winnipeg on 9/1-Sep-2019, the summit which is supported by Winnipeg Airports Authority will attract over 250 delegates, making it one of the most anticipated events of its kind in the region.

According to the President and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority Mr. Barry Rempel, “We are proud to be part of Winnipeg’s recent economic resurgence and look forward to hosting  thought leaders that are shaping the future of our industry while working with our community partners to showcase all this region has to offer.”

The atmosphere of the aviation industry in Canada is speedily changing, as evidenced by a number of pointers such as the emergence of ULCC startups and the new partnership agreement between Delta and WestJet, which is set to compete with Air Canada in terms of 6th freedom traffic. Peter Harbison, CAPA Chairman Emeritus, emphasized the need for the forum to address these milestones while working closely with the Canadian aviation industry to achieve greater progress.

As expected, heavy-weights of the Canadian aviation industry will grace the event, including WestJet President and CEO Ed Sims, President and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority Barry Rempel, Swoop President Steven Greenway, amongst others.
