According to information dished out by a local press conference carried out by Ali Alnaqbi, Founding and Executive Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA), and Zuhair Mohamed El Aoufir, CEO of Office National des Aeroports (ONDA), the MEBAA Show Morocco, scheduled to hold from 25 to 26 September 2019 at Marrakech Menara Airport, will bring business aviation to the North African region. This event will be preceded by the MEBAA Conference Morocco, on September 24 of this year.
In a statement he made during the press conference, Alnaqbi confirmed that, “The business aviation sector in Morocco shows promising potential”. He added that ONDA and MEBAA have a ten year agreement for the show to be held in Morocco and has been doing so biennially since its onset in 2015.
El Aoufir is pleased with the venture because according to him, “The show aligns with our development programmes to encourage growth in business aviation. As the only dedicated business aviation event in North Africa, it provides a valuable resource as well as an unrivalled platform for business”. This is particularly so because JSSI Business Aviation Index found that flight activity in Africa rose 19.8% year on year from Q2 2017 to Q2 2018.
Since exhibitors at this event will include key players in the industry, it is expected that the MEBAA Show Morocco will bring together experts from across the region and indeed across the world to ponder upon opportunities available and challenges faced in business aviation in the region.
